The Manotick Village & Community Association (MVCA) will again host a Shiverfest Chili Cook-off. This year, only amateur chefs will compete. The 1st prize is “The Golden Spoon”, and $50 PC gift card. 

The rules are as follows: 

• PARTICIPATION IS FREE 
• Bring your homemade chili in a crockpot to the Legion by 11:30 AM on Saturday. 
• You are allowed to bring extra to top up the crockpot if needed. 
• You may bring any condiments you wish to serve with your chili. 
• We provide table space, chairs and electrical power (115 volts), serving cups, spoons, water, baguette and napkins.
• You or your designate must serve your chili, using a small ladle 
• Average number of attendees is 125. 
• Servings are about equal to a soup spoon. 

To judge the chilis, adults and children over 6 pay $5.00 for a ballot. MVCA collects the fees and manages the voting process. Contest winners will be announced at the end of the event. Names and photos will be posted on the MVCA web site and social media. Winners, as decided by the results from the ballots, are final. 

Proceeds are for Manotick and Area Centre for Arts and Wellness.
